FLIGHTS

Melboure Airport is MEL; please do not confuse this with the Avalon Airport (AVV) when booking interstate flights.

MELBOURNE TRANSPORTATION

MYKI is Melbourne's transportation card that is used across trains, trams, and buses. You can buy MYKI at 7-Eleven shops and at train stations.

For Android phone users, you can download the app and pay with your phone.

ACCOMMODATION

We recommend looking for accommodation in the Melbourne CBD (Central Business District) for convenient access to public transport, shopping, theatres, and major landmarks. We suggest looking for hotels located near Bourke Street, as the 86 and 96 tram lines go through this street, taking you directly to the wedding registry location with no fuss.

Alternatively, we recommend the inner city of Fitzroy or Collingwood if you enjoy bars, cafes, vintage, records. These neighbourhoods are just slightly away from the CBD, but the 11, 86, or 96 tram lines run straight through or nearby, offering a direct and easy ride to the wedding registry location. The StandardX and Veriu Collingwood are some good options.

RECOMMENDATIONS

To not have coffee in Melbourne is unacceptable, so please try and visit some of our favourite spots like ACOFFEE in Collingwood, Industry Beans in the CBD or Maker at its multiple locations. There are plenty of options for matcha lovers as well, but our recommendations are Hikari, Tori's and Nana's Green Tea, which are all conveniently located in the CBD.

Some of our favourite places to eat at that always hit the spot are Nico's Sandwiches, Shan Dong Mama for their iconic mackerel dumplings, and Nana Thai or Pochana for some tasty Thai dishes. But if you're keen for something fancy, Gimlet and Entrecôte guarantee a good time.

Moving to iconic landmarks, a visit to either Queen Victoria Market or South Melbourne Market is essential. If you love nature and a quiet reprieve from the city, the Royal Botanic Gardens is a nearby park where you can easily spend hours at.  Last but not the least, a visit to the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is a must if you like immersing yourselves in both old and new art.
